Since 2009, Cody Johnson has released music with the goal of sticking to the traditional country sound he’s always adored. With hits like Til You Can’t and Human , it’s safe to say he’s succeeded. In doing so, he’s garnered quite a following over the years. But Johnson’s fans aren’t the only ones who are positively impacted by his love for all things country .
Johnson has two little girls: Clara Mae who is 8 years old and 5-year-old Cori. Like their dad, they also have a talent for music. That’s why he chose to share the Grand Ole Opry stage with them during his performance last week.

Together, the three of them sang My Rifle, My Pony, and Me . This hit song was originally performed by Dean Martin and Ricky Nelson for the 1959 John Wayne Western Rio Bravo . With the accompaniment of Clara Mae and Cori’s sweet voices, the song totally transforms into something new.
It’s no wonder, then, the audience manages to stay so much quieter than they usually do for live performances. Still, there were moments where the crowd couldn’t help but cheer for these talented kiddos.

Needless to say, this is one performance both the audience and the Johnson family will never forget.
“Not me sobbing thinking [about] this playing at their weddings,” a fan says in the comment section on a video of their performance.
“They’re going to look back on this memory forever,” another fan shares.
