A young girl named Molly steps onto the stage of The Voice Kids Australia in front in thousands.

The stakes are high—this show has been a launchpad for ordinary folks, turning them into overnight sensations.

As Molly starts to sing “Not Pretty Enough,” the judges can’t help but express their amazement.

“Am I not pretty enough, is my heart too broken? Do I cry too much, am I too outspoken?”

The Voice is unique in that the judges listen without seeing the performer, thanks to their rotating chairs.

Molly’s voice fills the room, capturing everyone’s attention.

Judge Mel B couldn’t contain herself any longer, and pressed the red button.

Molly’s family, watching from the wings, erupts in joy.
Even one judge turning around is monumental—it means Molly has a shot at advancing in the competition.

The song Molly chose, “Not Pretty Enough,” is a country-pop hit by Kasey Chambers.

In an interview with Song Facts, Chambers revealed, “I wrote it about not fitting into the music industry and feeling uncomfortable in such a superficial industry.”

“Feeling like I would never fit into mainstream radio.”
“Ironically, it became a radio hit in Australia on mainstream radio and went to #1 on the pop charts.”

Molly’s performance was so compelling that another set of judges, the Madden Brothers, also hit their buttons, turning their chairs to face the young talent.

The only judge who didn’t turn was Delta Goodrem, who, as it turns out, was the coach Molly had been hoping to work with.
