What’s amazing about school events and your peers performing is that you’ll realize you don’t really know their secret lives until they show up on stage.
You never know who’s harboring an iconic voice beneath their social veneer.
This is exactly how the classmates of one exchange student felt when he joined the school’s pep rally and performed something they didn’t expect.
A member of the scholastic community uploaded the performance on YouTube.
A young man whom the uploader described as a “Brazilian exchange student” paced around the center of the gymnasium as the intro music played out.
As soon as the notes began to roll, audible excitement filled the room.
The audience watched with anticipation maybe because they never really knew that the student had a talent for singing.
Evoking his inner Elvis, the teen began with, “Wise men say…”
His deep voice carried a clear melody and the people were shocked!
As the young man continued with “Only fools rush in,” the girls in the audience erupted in enthusiastic applause, giggling, and a whole lot of cheering.
The way the girls react is totally and undeniably reminiscent of the effect Elvis had on his young fans.
Meanwhile, the adults on the benches took their phones out to record the performance. Even they were taken aback by his uncanny ability to channel the King of Rock and Roll.
The young man hit all the right notes and lit up the audience’s hearts.
He even donned a dashing regalia of a jacket and aviator shades to sweep everyone off their feet.
While the school is still in shock, it is also a great moment to appreciate.
The video was just uploaded earlier this year, and yet, it showed a student who knew a song from artists he had never seen perform.
Growing up in a poor family, no one really expected Presley to make it big. But through dogged self-confidence and belief in his talents, he became a nationwide sensation.
Meanwhile, the song the student chose is considered one of the greatest songs of all time.
The song is part of his album Blue Hawaii. Different artists like A-Teens and UB40 also covered the song in various styles.
With its touching lyrics and mellow tune, the serenade endured as a love song that never went out of style.
A survey from a retail company revealed that in 2020, the song was the most popular choice for couples as the track for their first dance at their wedding.
People loved the young man’s performance.
“No idea how this isn’t viral yet! It needs to be! He sounds amazing and his voice is so smooth!” said one commenter.
“Who is this guy? Please get him to America’s Got Talent, the world needs this voice! A raw diamond!” said another, which is, quite frankly, something we’d all watch.
“And in just one moment, every girl had a crush! Beautiful voice!” said another and we wouldn’t be surprised if this turned out to be true.
