The argument over whether birthmarks are hereditary or random has raged on for a long time. While some believe these markings arise at random, others feel the gene game plays a significant influence in their appearance.
MilliAnna Worthy of Ridgeland, South Carolina, found the latter to be a very joyful reality.
MilliAnna inherited her mother’s white fringe when she was born.
And it looks even better now, 18 months later!
The girl’s hair color is unusual, and it’s for a good reason: it’s caused by poliosis, a rare disease. Because of the disease, the skin and hair surrounding it have insufficient melanin, which is why the white patch developed.
“We’re not sure how far back the birthmark extends,” Brianna explained. “My grandma was adopted as a toddler and has never seen her real family.”
Brianna had always wished that her daughter will inherit the unique feature. Brianna’s soon-to-be mother wasn’t sure whether her daughter would inherit it because one of her older sisters didn’t have it.
“But when they put her on my breast and I realized she had it, I was overjoyed.”
“I came to love it in my hair and felt convinced that it was my own unique signature style,” she says.
Brianna began to believe that her distinguishing feature was her hair. “I plan to raise my kid knowing she is beautiful and wonderful, and not to heed to people’s unpleasant remarks at times,” Brianna stated.
What a lovely and unusual appearance! MilliAnna is fortunate to have a mother that understands her needs and values the unique feature they both have!
Hopefully, one day, the world will be free of hate and rude words, especially toward such lovely and unique people like Brianna and her little princess, MilliAnna.
Jurnee Hoffmeyer, seven years old, came home weeping with her haircut one day.
Jimmy Hoffmeyer, her father, was outraged. This was his daughter’s second “haircut” in several days. On the school bus on March 24, a classmate chopped her hair into a “one side adorable” with scissors. Jurnee’s father protested to the principal and took her to a hairdresser for an asymmetrical cut (to cover up the jagged lengths), but she came home with even shorter hair. Jurnee’s hair was evened out by a teacher in this situation.
Following the haircut on the school bus, the school informed the father that “the little girl took the scissors off the teacher’s desk,” and that “they were going to talk to the parents and deal with it appropriately.”
Jurnee has beautiful golden locks and is multiracial. The school librarian, who also happens to be a certified cosmetologist, was the teacher who chopped Jurnee’s hair, but as the principal maintains, the worst that might happen is a notation in the librarian’s work file.
Hoffmeyer stated, “She [the principal] indicated she didn’t have the authority to do anything.” “She continued wondering what she could do to get rid of it.”
He even filed an incident report with the police, but no one has contacted him afterwards. He also got a call from the superintendent of the district, who promised to send apology cards to the family.
Hoffmeyer, who is also multiracial, stated, “I got furious and hung up.” Jurnee’s mother is white. Meanwhile, Jurnee’s hair was trimmed by a white classmate and teacher”.
“You can’t simply damp down and cut our sort of hair,” Hoffmeyer explained. “And that’s when I feel like they should have, even if they were trying to do it in the nicest of hearts, once they saw the consequence, they should have been like, okay, we messed up,” he added. “I think we should call him and let him know what happened.”
However, he only realized about the haircut when his daughter returned home weeping and terrified. He was also trying to figure out exactly what had done.
He remarked, “I’m not one to attempt to make things about race.” “I grew up surrounded almost entirely by white people.”
According to the United States Census Bureau, roughly 4% of Mount Pleasant’s 25 000 people are African-American. There are bills in the works in Michigan to amend the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act to make discrimination based on hair texture and style illegal.
Jurnee’s hair was chopped by a classmate who didn’t think much of it. Hoffmeyer explained, “I chalked it up since it was a youngster, and you don’t think of any major ramifications having to do with a kid.” The second time, though, he lost patience. “She was very humiliated when that teacher chopped her hair. So humiliated. Because she had to return to class in such a state.”
He called the school several times to find out what had happened, but he received no response to his queries at first. Despite the fact that the school apologized, they refused to provide him the footage of the two haircuts.
“I want them to take responsibility for their actions,” Hoffmeyer added. “For the most part, we’ve been calling for a public apology to let Jurnee know that yes, they realize that it was wrong and that it should never have been done and that she should never have gone through anything like this”.
District Superintendent Jennifer Verleger has now verified the tale, adding that Jurnee’s teacher was aware of the librarian’s plans to give her a haircut. The haircut was provided without the approval of Jurnee’s parents or the school administration. The teachers, it appears, felt they were assisting the kid when they said Jurnee requested a haircut since she didn’t like her hair at the time.
“Regardless of their good intentions, our two workers’ conduct were inappropriate and shown a lack of judgment,” Verleger said in a statement. ”Both are being investigated for possible additional disciplinary measures in line with school regulations and procedures.”
They have apologized to the Hoffmeyer family for their actions since the incident. Jurnee’s father soon transferred her to a new school and is considering enrolling her in a private school. Hoffmeyer is also collaborating with the National Parents Union, a national network of parents that push for bettering children’s quality of life. Christina Laster, the union’s director of policy and legislation, says the instructors involved were openly disparaging the girl’s hair texture and style.
“I feel that what occurred — and what truly happened, based on my interactions with the family — is that youngsters began to acquire the same judgmental mindset about Jurnee’s hair, which then evolved into this event that quickly spiraled out of control.”
Sunshine Oelfke, Jackie Oelfke’s 5-year-old granddaughter, was rummaging through her piggy bank one day after school, and she asked her what she planned to do with the money. Jackie’s heart was broken and touched by the adorable girl’s response.
Jackie explained, “She said she was carrying it to school for milk.” “I told her I had already paid for her milk for the month, and she looked at me and said, ‘My friend’s mom doesn’t have milk money, but I do”.
Sunshine explained, “I’m bringing milk money to school for my buddy because my friend wants milk and I want my friend to receive milk as well.” “We both enjoy chocolate milk.”
Sunshine had been collecting her spare change and a few dollars in the hopes of one day purchasing a snowmobile, but she had made the decision on her own that assisting her buddy was more essential.
Jackie said that her granddaughter consumes milk on a daily basis to help her “become strong for snowmobiling.”
Sunshine and her grandma went to school together the next day, and the nice young girl had many plastic bags full of milk money for her buddy. Jackie described the purpose of the money she had brought to the kindergarten instructor.
Sunshine’s instructor, Rita Hausher, stated, “I have always felt sorry when I have had to tell a kid, ‘no,’ when they ask if they may have milk.” Sunshine’s gesture of compassion had a profound impact on Mrs. Hauser.
Sunshine motivated Jackie to start a GoFundMe for her classmate’s milk money, with the objective of earning $800 to cover everyone’s milk for the remainder of the semester. Kind people from all around the world surprised her by donating a total of $19,730.
They were able to not only provide milk for everyone in Sunshine’s class, but they have also decided to utilize the leftover cash to continue purchasing milk and food for any of Sunshine’s classmates who are in need as she progresses through the grades.
“The money will stay with Sunshine as she advances in grades so that her friends may purchase milk wherever she is,” Jackie stated.
Sunshine’s instructor remarked, “Thanks to Sunshine’s act of kindness for one student, it has grown so much that it now encompasses everyone, which makes my heart glad.”
“Wait a minute! Sunshine excitedly informed her grandmother, “My whole class got milk today.” “[My buddy] now has milk money,” says the narrator.
“She doesn’t realize the influence she’s had,” her grandmother explained, “but she now understands she can do everything she sets her mind to.”
After leaving Sunshine off at school, Jackie made this heartbreaking video about her granddaughter’s pure heart.
In a nursery filled with soft pastels and an abundance of stuffed animals, twin baby sisters, Lily and Sophie, were having a conversation that was anything but typical for their age. These two bundles of joy, barely a year old, were engaging in an intense and adorable exchange that seemed to be filled with a secret language of giggles and babbling.
Lily, with her big blue eyes and a tuft of blonde hair, sat facing her sister Sophie, who had the same sparkling eyes but sported a head of dark curls. The room was silent except for their animated baby chatter, which filled the air like music.
Lily gurgled something that sounded remarkably like, “Goo goo gah!” and waved her tiny hands in front of her. Sophie, not one to be outdone, responded with a hearty, “Babababa!” as her dimples deepened with excitement. It was a back-and-forth of sounds and gestures, as if they were each trying to express the most profound thoughts.
In 2013, Annie and Joby Johnston became parents to quadruplets after years of trying. Two of Annie and Chrissy’s babies were carried by a surrogate mother, who is also Annie’s sister. When Annie and Joby Johnston, both 34 at the time, were notified that their current round of reproductive treatments had failed yet again, it looked like the struggle was over.
Chrissy, Annie’s sister, came up with a creative solution. After doing some research, Chrissy realized that she could serve as a surrogate mother for Annie and Joby.
After some consideration, the couple decided to take Chrissy up on her offer, and Chrissy was inseminated with Annie’s fertilized eggs. She got pregnant quickly with twins.
As the situation appeared to be improving, the situation began to improve even more. In the opinion of fertility physicians, if a couple has difficulty conceiving gives up trying, they will have a better chance of becoming pregnant. This is exactly what happened to Annie and Joby. But wait, there’s more: it turned out that she, too, would give birth to twins.
Joby told the doctor they weren’t able to conceive for five years, so they were “ready for a new challenge.” “If the result is two twin pregnancies resulting in quadruplets, let it be,” he said. “We were prepared if the worst difficulty he could provide us with was four infants right now.”
Even more incredible, both sisters gave birth on the same day. Because Chrissy gave birth first, Annie was able to watch the birth of her two twin boys, Charles and Thomas. She then gave birth to twins Grace and Hadley.
All four quadruplets were born healthy, despite being born to two separate mothers.
As a result of the pandemic, a seven-year-old boy from North Carolina was heartbroken to learn that his nanny, Rachel, was not going to be able to attend her prom. After finding out, he decided that he knew exactly what to do. He decided to give her a prom himself. The boy whose name is Curtis, planned the entire evening, including the favorite snack that would be served as an appetizer. He even used a pool noodle to keep Rachel at a distance. Curtis told ABC11 Eye Witness News he planned the visit because he knew Rachel would want to see him often. She’s one of the best people he knows, he said.

The DJ tracklist Curtis made included all of Rachel’s favorite songs, according to Curtis’ mom. She said he was very excited and wanted the whole night to be perfect. He even put on a suit and picked out a bowtie that matched Rachel’s prom dress. He wanted to impress her, so he did. Rachel said she had an amazing time at her prom. She felt a bit sad when putting her dress on, but once she saw the trouble Curtis went to, her sadness dissolved.

It turned out that it was the first time she had seen Curtis in two months, and she had missed him so much. This thoughtful little boy also missed Rachel. Rachel said it was a lot of fun and she appreciated it very much.
Most of all, Curtis was the perfect little gentleman, she said.
He waited outside with the pool noodle and led her to his backyard. All of her favorite foods were there, and he had clearly spent a lot of time preparing them.
Rachel’s mom posted a video of the two dancing on Twitter. View the video below.

Klay and Cole Ball are one-year-old twins who strangers cannot believe are the same because of their different skin and hair colours. Their mother, Jade Ball, 32, is from Salford, Greater Manchester.
The 32-year-old mother says the twins are a mix of her and her partner, Kade, who is half Jᴀᴍᴀɪᴄᴀɴ. Karla was born with blue eyes and blonde hair, while his twin brother, Cole, has brown hair, brown eyes and dark skin.
Jade said: “When I tell people Klay and Cole are twins, they never believe me. Many times they think it is a joke. However, once they realize I am telling the truth, they are fascinated by the boys and ask me a lot of questions about them. When we are out and about, people always stop us and ask about the twins. I am white British and the twins’ father, Kade, is half Jamaican. When we found out we were having twins, we didn’t think too much about how they would look. The only thing we assumed was that they would both look like their older brother, Cruz, now two years old, and be tanned like me and their dad. But I never expected them to be completely different from one another. Their differences were obvious when they were born, but as they age, they look even more different.”
I think it’s really cool that they look opposite to each other. This just goes to show how crazy genes can be. Nothing about them seems related. They are very different but equally beautiful. The differences just keep growing as they continue to grow. Even though they look completely different, you can just tell that they’re brothers when you see them together.
They have an unbreakable bond. They play together like a little team and they also enjoy playing with their older brother. Klay is their leader. He’s confident, mischievous, and is always up to something. Cole is a bit more reserved than Klay, but he also loves cuddling with me. However, they love attention and are little show offs. They’ve recently signed with a couple of agencies, Nemesis and Lacara, and they’ve both thoroughly enjoyed their modeling work. I love my boys and how unique they are. I couldn’t imagine them any other way, it makes them who they are”, said the mum-of-three.
