A young singer has gotten one step closer to her dream after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent on Saturday and scoring the coveted golden buzzer from Simon Cowell himself. 12-year-old Fayth Ifel was beside herself with excitement when the golden confetti rained down after her astounding rendition of Tina Turner’s Proud Mary.

The girl from Swindon stepped on stage in a plaid shirt and jeans and dazzled the judges with her bright personality. She told them about her troubles with “negative energy” from different schools but expressed her excitement and incredulity at the moment she was experiencing. The first bars of Proud Mary began playing and she immediately started singing.

The young star-in-the-making shocked the judges, viewers, and live audience when she belted every note perfectly and entertained the crowd who was eventually up on their feet in applause. Judge David Walliams told her she was, “born to be a superstar,” and then it was Simon’s turn to share his comments.

That was the moment he leaned over and hit the golden buzzer to show his belief in her talent. Each judge can only hit the special buzzer once a series. That means Fayth is heading straight to the live semi-finals thanks to her stellar audition.
