When kids look at 16-year-old football player Chris Kuykendall, they might make the assumption that he’s your stereotypical high school jock. But this couldn’t be further than the truth. When Chris was younger, he was bullied and he didn’t even tell his parents. As Chris got older, the bullying eventually stopped, but not before leaving him with many mental scars. Chris knows the pain of bullying all too well so when he heard about a 5-year-old boy who was being severely bullied, he knew he had to do something about it and stand up for him. [googlead]

“It just hit home. I remembered how I felt when I was getting bullied. It just fired me up. I wanted to change that right then and there. I didn’t want him to go another day, wake up another day, feeling like he didn’t need to go to school.” With his good friend and football teammate Brevin Young, Chris started the Eagle Buddies. The Eagle Buddies connect older athletes with bullied kids to help build up their confidence and make them feel safe. A huge kudos to Chris… the world needs more people like you!
