14-Yr-Old’s Over-the-Top Performance of an R&B Classic Strikes Solid Gold

0

“Something’s Got a Hold on Me” is a song that was originally recorded by Etta James in 1962, reaching No. 4 on the R&B charts and No. 37 on the pop charts. The song has since become a classic of the soul and R&B genres, and has been covered by many other artists, including Christina Aguilera, who used the song as the basis for her hit “Lady Marmalade” in 2001.

And it was Christina’s version, rather than Etta’s, that 14-year-old Maya Gamzu chose to use in her Canada’s Got Talent audition–and what a choice it was. Maya is originally from Israel but has been living in Toronto, Canada, since 2018. “It’s a bit nerve-wracking to just wake up one day saying you have to go hide from the bombs,” she said.

Maya’s been singing since she was three, thanks mainly to her dad, who is also a singer. And from the first note it’s evident that this girl knows how to sing. The judges are close to confusion: how can that voice be coming from a 14-year-old? And how can she convey so much knowledge with just a few words? It’s as if she’s an old soul in a young body.

And her performance is perfect. She keeps the everyone hanging on the edge of their seats, drawing out the slow start with long notes and raising both anticipation and expectations. Then the music changes and she powerfully delivers–what a performance! Watch the full video below to see how she’s rewarded and please leave us a Facebook comment to let us know what you thought!

Tap-Dancing Teens Wow the Crowd with ‘Zorba the Greek’ Routine

0

Tap dancing is a popular style of dance that originated in the United States during the late 1800s. It began in the African American communities of the South, where slaves would create and perform their own songs and dances. As African American culture and music spread, so too did the popularity of tap dancing.

During the 1920s and 30s, the style of dance evolved and became more popular as a form of entertainment in vaudeville shows and Broadway musicals. Well in this video, we get to see a wonderful tap dance performed by a large group of young teens, and I think you’re going to like it.

The girls perform the “Zorba the Greek” dance, a traditional Greek dance that originated in the island of Crete and is said to have originated from the ancient Minoan civilization. It is a lively and energetic dance that is traditionally performed in a circular pattern, with the dancers stepping and turning in unison, to the accompaniment of guitars, mandolins, drums and tambourines.

And even though it’s a group performance, they all perform like they’re one. The perfect sync of their moves will give you chills. The girls put on a fantastic show, and the crowd’s reaction proves it right. Watch the full video below and please leave us a Facebook comment to let us know what you thought!

This video shows 4-year-old twins, Katarina and Dakota Delcamp performing a spectacular routine together to The Nutcracker. Katarina and Dakota may look small and inexperienced, but their act is something that even adults fail to put up. Watching them skate on ice so easily, makes me wonder if they joined some sort of skating class right from birth! This clip was recorded in December 2008. They are already 12 years old now. Big Sister Stops Crying Baby By Singing To Her

0

In the heart of every family, there exists a special bond between siblings that is both unique and unbreakable. A beautiful example of this connection can be witnessed when a big sister stops a crying baby by singing to her, transforming tears into tranquility.

As parents, we often find ourselves in awe of the unspoken understanding that siblings share. In moments of distress, the gentle, soothing tones of an older sister’s voice can work wonders, providing comfort that transcends words. A big sister’s lullaby is a testament to the nurturing love that siblings offer one another.

When a baby’s cries fill the air, the older sister, with her caring heart, steps in to provide solace through song. Her voice, though young and tender, carries a unique magic. Its familiarity and warmth resonate deeply with the baby, calming her in a way that only a sister’s touch can achieve.

The bond between siblings is an invaluable treasure, one that extends beyond the immediate family circle. When a big sister stops her baby sibling’s cries with a song, it speaks to the enduring power of love and compassion. It is a moment of tenderness and unity that creates lasting memories and strengthens the sibling connection.
